A little about C.I.P.E. (Christians in PUblic Education)
Vision:
Called to serve as missionaries in our public schools.
Mission:
In the summer of 2002 a team of Christians from the Central Florida region participated in a mission trip to Namibia, Africa. Many of these individuals were educators who went to teach an abstinence curriculum in the Namibian public schools as per the government’s request. Many of these educators found themselves discussing with children God’s purpose for their lives in the classroom. This experience changed their lives forever.
The educators discussed the need for Christians who work in public education to fulfill Christ’s directive in Matthew to be a light in the midst of our dark public schools. They made a commitment to start a group and Christians In Public Education was born.
Matthew 5:13-16 – In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in Heaven.
